Call for Scores

The Hawai’i Institute for Contemporary Music

seeks solo piano works by young composers for its first annual composition competition. Composers 23 and younger are eligible to apply, and the winner will receive $500 and a performance by a member of HICM’s performance faculty on the final concert of the Institute’s summer 2008 program.

Eligibility


    - Composers must be 23 years of age or younger on Jan 1st, 2008
    - Works must be scored for solo piano
    - Duration of the work must be can be up to 10 minutes in length
    - Only one work may be submitted per composer

Application Materials


    -A score, clearly labeled with your name and the title of the work
    -A CD recording (if available) also labeled with your name and the title of the work
    -A one-paragraph biography
    -A self-addressed, stamped envelope for return of materials after judging (if you would like your materials returned)

    All application materials must be postmarked no later than March 1st.
    No late entries will be considered.
