Call for ScoresThe Hawai’i Institute for Contemporary Musicseeks solo piano works by young composers for its first annual composition competition. Composers 23 and younger are eligible to apply, and the winner will receive $500 and a performance by a member of HICM’s performance faculty on the final concert of the Institute’s summer 2008 program.Eligibility
- Works must be scored for solo piano - Duration of the work must be can be up to 10 minutes in length - Only one work may be submitted per composer Application Materials
-A CD recording (if available) also labeled with your name and the title of the work -A one-paragraph biography -A self-addressed, stamped envelope for return of materials after judging (if you would like your materials returned) Please send all materials together in one envelope to: Thomas Osborne, director of composition studies Hawai’i Institute for Contemporary Music University of Hawaii at Manoa Music Department 2411 Dole St. Honolulu, HI 96822 USA All application materials must be postmarked no later than March 1st. No late entries will be considered. The winner will be notified by March 15th.
